2020 - CHESTER VIRTUAL REGATTA
COVID-19 lockdown:
Due to COVID-19 and UK Government and British Rowing restrictions, the Chester Regatta committee cancelled the 2020 regatta, scheduled for 13th June on the River Dee.
Postponement was not an option for many reasons.
Chester Regatta has been a very successful rowing event in previous years, attracting a strong field from rowing clubs across the UK and we are determined to ensure that the ‘Oldest Regatta in the World’ continues just as soon as it can be done safely. We’d also like to thank all our loyal sponsors whose businesses are likely to be under immense pressures too.
To enthuse disappointed rowers to keep training safely at home we set up our very successful Chester Virtual Regatta.... thanks to all who joined in the fun safely at home...
